In a late reversal of fortune, a measure to fund Sheriff patrol services in rural Deschutes County was passing by just 15 votes as of 12:16 a.m, with 44 of 51 precincts reporting. Only voters outside of incorporated cities voted on the measure, which had 50.05 percent of "yes" votes, versus 49.95 percent of "no" votes.
With 15 of 19 precincts counted in the race for Bend City Council Position 5, Mark Cappell held a 68 percent to 32 percent lead over Derek Stevens.
With 15 of 19 precincts counted in the race for Bend City Council Position 6, Mayor Bill Friedman had won 56 percent of the vote. Clint Chick had 34 percent, while former city councilor Wyvetta Wilson had 10 percent of the vote.
15/19 precincts counted. Incumbent Councilor Chris Telfer, who ran unopposed, won 97 percent of the vote. Write-in candidates earned 3 percent.
A measure to incorporate a city of La Pine led 58 percent to 42 percent.
